Bought a game today called "Hnefatafl", a.k.a. "The Viking Game". Peter is excited to play it with me, but we've not had the chance yet. The game is an early version of chess dating to perhaps 400 CE, and was wildly popular all over early Scandanavia up through 1200 and even later. The game is asymmetrical, which is interesting. White is defending against an army twice its size, but white has a powerful king.
Tonight we went to see Misty and Mike, the last time we'll see them before we go. Our calendar is starting to fill with these 'last visits'. It will be a busy month.
