Here's a view of downtown as seen from our neighborhood. The green spire is part of the Nidaros cathedral, the most northern medieval cathedral in Europe. It dates to 1152.

All's going very well. I had a 1.5 hour meeting with the boss this morning (all in Norwegian!) and he's a great guy. I have no reservations about work this year. We went over my plans for the year and picked out a design for the artwork we're gifting to the reading center. My job this year will be a series of fun projects -- I'm very much looking forward to it!

This afternoon I fixed the lights on the car -- turns out we've been driving around with only one taillight and no brake lights! Yikes! It was one burnt out bulb and one shorted-out connection that magically jiggled back into place after diligent poking about. Lucky!

Our bank cards arrived but we have to show our passports at the post office to get them, and immigration has our passports, so no Norwegian bank cards for a week. And... we need the bank cards to get our cell phones operating, so we're a little bit stuck. Hrmph. Ting tar tid.

Well, tonight we're going out for blueberry picking, cookout, and swimming in a lake. We gotta soak up this warm sunny weather while we've got it!
