Fetsund

Flew to Oslo yesterday, train to Lillestrøm where I'll be at a conference in a few minutes. Spent the day with Ingvill and Magne in nearby Fetsund. We rode bikes on a beautiful ride in the country down to the longest river in Norway to a site of former logging base, now a nature and history center. We ate smoked fish and waffles on the river and walked along the narrow floating bridges way out over the water. The bridges are more like a series of long thin rafts which wobble precariously. Good fun! We dropped in on an artist studio also in the area and chatted about jewelry and glass.

Afterwards we explored their neighborhood, which has a lovely lake in the woods behind their house. Dinner, laughing, scheming. A perfect day.
