I'm in Bergen for a math teacher conference (yes, fast turn around after vacation). The Olympics are on. Norway always shines during the winter Olympics, but not so much during the summer Olympics. Women's handball is an exception.
Norway won gold 4 years ago, and today they played against Montenegro for the gold. Our dinner at the hotel was shifted up 30 minutes so that we could finish in time to watch the game (this is very Norwegian!) After dinner, 50 people crowded into the hotel lobby to watch on a not-so-large screen. Between halves, I accompanied a group to a sports bar where we watched on a big big screen -- much better. We cheered the women to a gold medal. Well done, little Norway!
